Last week I was driving down Thames on a foggy morning. I attempted a lovely picture. But with cobblestone streets and sport suspension… This is what I got.
Around 7:00pm I left a local wine bar where I enjoyed a delicious cocktail, mussels with fennel and chouriço, and some prosecco. I made a quick stop at Kilwins Newport for a dark chocolate peanut bear claw that I stowed away in my purse with great anticipation. On my walk home from Kilwins I ran into a coworker and his friends who convinced me to join them for dinner at the deck. I’m glad I did. We decided on sharing all our plates. So in my belly I had a magnificent seared duck, a seafood bouillabaisse, lobster, MORE mussels, a filet (medium rare, drool), ratatouille, and baked clams with garlic aioli. Lots of wine. Then! Then… A peanut butter cheesecake i would do unmentionable things for. To top it off our table was invited to a family & friends night @ the deck to try new menu options. Still. The most exciting part of the evening? Getting home and remembering I have the peanut bear claw to enjoy while I watch SNL and cuddle with tigs.
I have Friday off due to some exercises on base this week. Friday just so happens to be the start of restaurant week in Newport. Next week I will be going with the coworkers somewhere for dinner, I’m sure. I am thinking on Friday I will go out to lunch on my own since it shouldn’t be too crowded out. Maybe the weather will be fairly nice and I can just walk around for a bit as well. I can’t decide if I want to go to The Mooring or 22 Bowen’s. The Mussles and Frites or Smoked Tuna Melt at Mooring sound deeelicious. Then I really want to try the Fish & Chips or the Salmon Teriyaki Black Bean Burger at Bowen’s. Sighhh. Decisions.
Whoa, there. I live .3 miles from a place called an “ice cream spa” and didn’t know it?!?
This was filmed in my new place of residence… Newport, RI!
It’s such a warm weekend. Gonna go walk around and try to find my go to coffee shop this morning. Paris Delight sounds rather romantic.
